Visiting Congressman John Garamendi of California's 8th Congressional District (CA-08) will answer questions at a Town Hall meeting for the constituents of California's 5th Congressional District (CA-05) on Wednesday, April 9 at the CSD Community Center, Assembly Hall, in Cameron Park.

CA-05 Congressman Tom McClintock refuses to face his constituents in person. Indivisible El Dorado has repeatedly invited McClintock to appear, but he has sadly failed to acknowledge all requests.

Congressman Garamendi will be appearing via zoom from Washington, D.C. for an hour from 6:00 to 7:00 pm (PST) to comment on the situation in Congress and take questions live. Doors open at 5:00 pm to prepare questions for the Q&A period.

Congressman Garamendi was raised in Mokelumne Hill, Calaveras County, in the heart of California’s 5th District. He has a deep knowledge of the issues affecting the Sierra Foothill communities of CA-05. Garamendi has a long career in public service beginning with the Peace Corps, 4 terms in the California Senate, 2 terms as California Insurance Commissioner, and appointed Deputy Secretary of the Interior by President Clinton, elected Lt. Governor, before serving 8 terms in the U.S. House of Representatives.

This event is co-sponsored by Indivisible El Dorado and El Dorado County Democrats, but it is open to all McClintock CA-05 constituents who are concerned about the impacts of the Trump/Musk/Project 2025 agenda on everyday Americans.
